I began my fitness journey joining every sport I could as a kid.  P.E. was my favorite subject and I would play soccer at lunch.  It was easy back then to be in shape.  I stayed in decent shape in high school by playing 3 sports year round.  I continued to play volleyball through junior college and that’s what brought me up north.  I started to play volleyball at Cal State Hayward but early on decided to quit, that’s when my battle with weight gain and weighloss began.  The weight started piling on and I had no idea how to control it.  I stopped working out and McDonalds, Taco Bell and Burger King became my breakfast, lunch and dinner.   Pretty soon after that I learned what a calorie was and all of that changed.  I couldn’t believe no one told me until I was 20!!  Soon after that I got hired at 24 Hour Fitness as a personal trainer and I began working on getting my body back. I  had the usual routine for 3 years after that.   I worked out 2 hours a day 5x a week.  I always did 50 minutes of cardio and 50 minutes of weights.  My body barely changed because my caloric intake was almost what I was putting out. My body really started to change when I found crossfit.  I was instantly hooked!  My workouts changed but my diet stayed the same.  At that point I knew I had a problem with food and I was pretty much addicted.  I got the best results as I started to clean out my diet.  Now here I am and I’m in the best shape I have ever been  but it was a struggle to get here.  I don’t work out as much as I used to but I am more successful now because I  win 80% of the time.  I have realized that I can look as good as I want I just have to control my food intake.
